Private Jet
The Jetpod is a unique, lightweight,
Very Quiet Short Take-Off and Landing (VQSTOL), 6-seat, twin-jet powered
aircraft.
The Jetpod cruises at 350 mph and uses an unbelievable
410 feet of landing space. This is achieved through a combination of
horizontal and vertical thrust management as developed by Avcen.
No runways are required so you can take off from a private parking lot
or your neighbor's driveway.
There are similar very small jets (VSJ) being manufactured in the US as well.

Jetpod is a
very quiet aircraft that can take off and land in short distances (STOL),
developed by Avcen Limited. It is supposed to serve as a flying taxi in
London and other big cities. The flying tests are scheduled to start in
2006 and be operational by 2010.
These VLJ
business jets will be mostly used for private jets,
jet charters and
fractional
jet ownerships.

The speed of
Jetpod is 550 km/h (350 mph, 300 knots). The cost of each Jetpod
is $1,000,000. It is less noisy than other planes and needs only 125
meters (135 yards) to take-off or land. The trip from Heathrow Airport
to central London would take about 4 minutes and cost about $100
